Weight Loss Workouts

Looking for protein shake or bar for after workouts for weight loss/muscle gain?
I’m someone who works out very regularly, doing both cardio and weightlifting daily. I do have a decent amount of muscle but am still about 10 lbs overweight (i eat very healthy) and have found that over the past 6 months or so my weight loss has stopped and I dont seem to be adding any muscle. I have been trying working out harder (more weights, longer distance running, etc.) but am not having a ton of success. After my workouts I usually have a little snack like applesauce, non-fat yogurt or fruit, but am looking for a change or something that could give me a boost. My biggest concern in the past with protein bars is that they seem to have the calories, fat and sugar of a candy bar, and the same with shakes. Is there any protein bar or shake that someone would advise me taking after a workout to help me with weight loss and muscle gain?
Right after your workout is a good time for protein and carbs for muscle gain. Yes, most of the protein bars have a lot of sugar and other ingredients you don’t need. Try getting some protein powder (made from whey) and make a shake with about 1 tablespoon of the powder, some low-fat milk and/or yogurt, and some fruit, wither fresh or froze. (Frozen fruit is still a very good source of carbs and sugar–but not too much. And sometimes it’s just easier to open a pack of frozen fruit than chop up fresh.)
This should give you enough protein in the magic 30 minutes after your workout which will maximize your muscle-building. Your body can absorb only a certain amount of protein at a time, so adding more protein will just be a waste.
The other thing about making your own shakes is you know exactly what is in them.
