Low Carb Diet: Low Cal, or metabolic advantage in disguise?
I was on the Atkins diet for about a year. No books (although I have read), but I changed the system for something I could tolerate for now. (See: trap days), works well so far, I've lost about 60-70 pounds. But I want to increase my carbohydrate intake. It is possible to eat 1600 calories per day, with half from carbohydrates, and loss results of weight, and even 20 grams of carbohydrates one day? It really is a metabolic advantage of eating low carb, or is really just a calorie, low calorie and carbohydrate content simply works because proteins and fats are very satiating? Has anyone made a change? What is their experience and or opinions?
