contest has 7 people per group, based on greatest percentage of weight loss from the total weight of the group, the greatest loser wins.
a new group comes along and says they have only 5 people in the group, which would be the most accurate dividing total weight by 5 ( numerator ) or by 7 ? explain answer
Percent weight loss of a group:
Weight loss = (Total weight initial) – (total weight final)
Percentage weight loss = (Weight loss)/(total weight initial)…[expressed as a percent]
Note: The number of people in the group is not in the formula.
It doesn’t matter how many people are in the group.
