Can mold cause Kidney failure in cats?

Since April my 3 cats had to be put down from kidney failure. Two of them were 13 and one was 9. They only eat long gevity science diet dry food and no wet food or treats. I use fresh step kitty litter and scoop 2-3 times a day. I have mold in the basement and was wondering if that could cause it? Or could it be the food? can i get it tested and where can i find one? thanks so much ……a very worried pet owner

Very much so, I even had a human friend die from mold. My cat went into liver failure from we are suspection a bacteria/mold from raw chicken she got into, she was 4, we thankfully got her thru it.
